WOET warning: Wall of excited text warning!! Namely excited blabberings about the epic event that happened just this Sunday, 5th feb: SPRING TAIKAI!!! For those who are not familiar with it, its an AFA-organized event to bring over Kaname-san, Gerorin and Dasoku over!!!!

(Okay I shall first state that as an utaite fan, naturally my attention is super focused on Dagero, but no disrespect meant to Kaname-san; he was super cute and engaging too, not to mention brave to take up singing in front of a huge crowd!)


Okay happy blabberings start:

NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD GET TO SEE THEM LIVE, WITHOUT HAVING TO FLY TO JAPAN!!!! This is like a dream come true: two of my favourite utaites!!! DAGERO!!! Being able to actually see them in person IRL (their smiles!!!) to shake hands with them, to speak to them, to give fanletters, and to hear them sing LIVE: was like a huge huge dream came true-!!!! And this was my first concert ever, and its DAGERO!!!!!!!!!! I was super super high, and spent most of the time clinging at the front barrier, jumping like a madwoman and waving my green-purple lightsticks like nobody's business LOL. Voice was literally gone after the concert, and whole body aching like mad hehehehe. The ticket price was $60 ($63 for us cause we bought it online the night it came out) AND IT WAS WORTH EVERY SINGLE CENT. TAKE MY MONEY. TAKE ALL OF IT. JUST BRING THEM AGAIN, OR OTHER UTAITES..!!!!

Okay anyway on Sunday morning, me and a group of our friends went down early to scape (the event area) to get merchandise and to start queuing, as its a free-seating event (so nerve-wrecking omg). I was originally only able to come down a little later as I had a tutoring session in the morning, but thank god it was cancelled last minute and I managed to fly down earlier! By the time I reached (about an hour after sales of the merch started) most of the goods were sold out, especially the CDs, so I got a set of dsk's prints~ (I wanted gero's strap so badly to match my dsk strap lol, but I think it was sold out in their Bangkok live the day before ;w; ) Picture of the place, with random groups of fans sitting around and waiting: [link]

Then we waited for the queue for the handshake event to start; walked around and chatted with other groups of friends. At one time, a group of my friends were coincidentally standing near one of the entrances to the mall, and she saw a lone gerorin walk in, did a take-aback at the huge crowd of waiting fans, u-turned hastily out of the door, and returned moments later with dsk and the rest of the group HAHAHA omg so cute!!! And only those just nice standing at the door saw them, as 1) their position blocked the view and 2) no one was expecting it at all!! My friends were stunned as they walked by up towards the AKB cafe above to have lunch; then they grabbed the rest of us (who was a little way away and didn't see) and we went upstairs and peeked in through the door (like some stalkers (LOL). Managed to get a glimpse of gero (who was just nice framed by the door of their room) before curtains were closed the view gone ;w; Gerorin was wearing his mask so couldn't see much of his face, but its definitely him!!! At that time I didnt managed to see dsk ;A; We then returned back down, quietly elated and squealing. LOL

The queue for the handshake event started at 2pm, and somehow me and my friends managed to get a space in the queue very near the front!! There was this gaggle of scary screaming crazy young girls who squeezed in before us, but nonetheless we were near the front!! While waiting, we snapped a pic of our handshake tickets arrayed around a friend's printout of moca-chan (dsk's beloved cat) and tweeted it to him; and to our very very great surprise and delight, he actually retweeted it!!!!!! SO HAPPY OMG!!! (pic we tweeted here: [link]) And the queue was so long that it actually u-turned and snaked back to the beginning again lol!

Finally after some time, they walked down and past us into the AFA shop, where the handshake event was to be!! Everyone went nuts, and since the walls of the shop were glass, we were treated to a great view of them setting up stuffs and getting ready; and finally was the handshake event itself!! (pic here, taken by a friend who got a better view!: [link]) SO NERVOUS OMG. Was almost like a Japanese oral exam >< Had internally rehearsed what to say to them (lol) but when I walked in, the mere sight of their faces UP CLOSE made everything fly out of my head >_<! They were standing in this order: dsk, gero and kaname, so kaname was the one closest to where we were to enter.

I stuttered a question at kaname while gesturing at the basket: 'is this where we are to put the gifts?' (like duh it had the word 'gifts' written on it LOL) and he went and smiled and nodded!! So I placed the letters tremblingly in the basket (pic of my fanletters here: [link]), and shook kaname's hand; then omg it was gerorin's turn!! I could only managed a 'げろりん大好き！！' before I was chivvied to dsk, but gero looked surprised, and grinned his adorable grin at me!! -MELTS- And dsk omg omg I was so mind-blanked out that I would also only managed a '蛇足さん大好き!!' Dsk's face had his usual trademark stoned dsk expression, but for an instant he broke it with a smile!! IT WAS SO RADIANT. Grining like an idiot myself, I bowed in their general direction and gave a 'いつも応援してます！！' (I will always support you all!!) before I was ushered out by the super efficient AFA staff people. I went out grinning non-stop like an idiot, and jumped around with similarly-grinning friends. SHIAWASE!!!! //////// (pic taken outside the shop after my turn: [link]) They also left their signatures at the shop (pic: [link]) Wished so much that we were also able to get signs, but I guess with the amount of people it simply isn't feasible ;w;

Everyone after leaving the shop was mingling around near the front of the concert hall door and refusing to move, so the AFA staff sneakily went out to the other entrance to start the concert queue; when they announced it, there was almost a general stampede omg. We all raced to the other entrance (I really ran flat-out omg scary >_< thank god for comfy runnable sneakers that day!), and judging by the amount of people in front that it was certain that we would not get good seats. But omg to our very very great surprise and delight, we saw part of our group already at the very first of the queue!! Managed to get in in the mess of people, and oh my god. This means first row seats, for our very first utaite concert!!!!!! CLOUD NINE PLEASE. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH to our epic sharp-eyed smart friends who glimpsed the AFA-people carrying barriers out, and followed them quietly and swiftly. THANK YOUUUUUUU >3<!!!!!!! (pic of us: [link]) Most of our group managed to stick together at the front, save a small group who were stuck a little way behind, thanks to a bunch of scary crazy kids who squeezed and elbowed their way in when the queue was forming .___. And some of my friends were stuck even further back, cause there was no space to squeeze them in too >_<   

After everyone calmed down, we settled in to wait for the start of the concert. The staff was really nice, reminding us to stay hydrated, and also replied queries in a friendly manner! AND SOON IT WAS 6pm, and we were ushered over to the concert hall in groups of 20! Our group was mainly consisted of our own friends, so everyone walked over in an orderly manner to the hall entrance. (pic of the hall entrance: [link]) (I heard later that in other groups, some of the more ill-mannered fans literally ran so they could be nearer the front >_<) But anyway, pretty soon they opened the doors, and we all filed into the first row!! (pic of us! [link]) I had a seat nearer the left end, and was so excited that could not keep still >w< (pic of the empty stage: [link]) We all broke out our lightsticks, and took a picture of them arranged like a star around another's friend's printout of Aoi-chan's face (gerorin's huge idol LOL) and tweeted it to gero. AND OMG GERORIN RETWEETED IT TOO. BOTH DAGERO RETWEETED OUR PICTURES TO THEM. TOO TOO HAPPY FOR WORDS!!!!! (this is the pic we tweeted! [link])

And concert start!!! There were performances by 2 opening bands, who were not bad and got the crowd moving! Though we were all admittedly waiting for the main acts, but the opening bands were not bad, and the crowd was all hyped and energetic!

AND NEXT: ENTER THE MAIN THREE. Shall henceforth refer to them three as DaGeMe LOL. Kaname-san entered first, to rousing screams and cheers; he came as Kaito (in a casual-looking version which I'm not sure the name of) and he came in, grinning did a cute little pose, and waved energetically at the crowd! Next, gerorin bounced in, to epic ear-splitting screams from the crowd, who were all waving their lightsticks like nobody's business (yes me included, who was clinging onto the barrier and grinning like crazy LOL). HE WAS HIS USUAL EPIC SELF OMG GERORIN!!! Seeing him up close on a concert stage was LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE. And next enter in dsk! Who came in super super cutely. He peeked out from behind the stage curtains at the roaring crowd. raised his eyebrows, and slowly walked out like he was scared HAHAOMG!!! The crowd was beyond nuts at this point, and the MC had to quiet us a few times for the first mini talkshow to start LOL

The talkshow was short, but very cute! The MC asked them questions like to introduce themselves. Kaname-san said he was a cosplayer who's going to sing today, and that he was super super nervous. Next up was gero, who introduced himself as an utaite from NicoDou, and that he's really looking forward to the live today! And dasoku, being very trademark-ly dasoku, said he was dasoku (inner joke, dasoku（蛇足）the word itself meaning extra, lit. adding extra legs onto a snake) and that all he wanted to say had already been said. XDDD He was so adorable!!! Another question that I could remember was the MC asking them was this their first visit to Singapore. Kaname-san said this was his 6th time, and 'tadaima'! To which the crowd cheered a huge 'okaeri!!!'. Gerorin said this was their first time, and they came cause they had been getting many tweets (dagero) and fb comments (dsk) asking them to come, so here they are! (cue crowd's appreciative roar)  

Then was the singing!!! Kaname sang first, which for someone who's not a singer, is really good! Really commend him for his courage, and his determination! Some of the higher pitches he was not able to reach well, but overall his voice is not bad! Can see that he was visibly nervous, and forgot some of the lyrics, but the crowd was really supportive and we kept yelling assurances and ganbattes at him \o/ He heard them, gave us a sheepish grin and shouldered on!! Not easy, to sing in front of such a huge crowd, especially if he only had like practice and voice training for a short while? Respect!

Then next was GERORIN. He was called out by kaname-san, and he did this damn cute slow-mo run out, then slow-mo-ed u-turned back HAHA. Kaname dragged him out, and they did this linked-arms cute little dance <3!! Then kaname-san gave the stage to gerorin, and went backstage. GEROOOO!!! He started off with a lovely rendition of Scissorhands, and egged us to sing along with him! Especially the 'aishite, aishite' parts, he held the mike out to us and you could hear roars of AISHITE (gero). Then next up was a moving ballad, in his strong voice; and while singing he mimed at us to wave our lightsticks synchronously, using a super cute finger action HAHA!! And he pointed at someone in the audience who was out of sync, and tsked and did the finger-waving again. And he pointed at someone else who was apparently doing it right, and did a thumbs-up!! And all the while still crooning the ballad. TOO CUTE OMG.

He then did a short MC and talked to us, and he noticed my friends' printouts of Aoi-chan, and he pointed at us and grinned!!! And we were all yelling CHAN-GERO!!! at him, and he looked so surprised and happy that we knew this particular nickname of his >w< Then someone in the crowd shouted at him to sing his famous PONPONPON, and the crowd started chanting a floor-shaking PONPONPON. He looked so amused, and actually sang the opening lines for us before laughing and stopping. He looked so happy!! And someone actually got too high and either her chair fell over or she fell, couldn't see, but there was a bang and he went, 'omg really ponponpon, onomeatopeia!' SO CUTE >3< And he asked us if we all know what is NicoDou. OF COURSE!!

Then his last song (which we all AWWWWW-ed loudly >_<) was one of my favourites of his songs, Nisoku Hyoku!!!! The crowd was beside ourselves HAHA. He also encouraged us to sing with him, and there was once he was at our side of the stage, he caught my eye and saw me singing, and winked with thumbs up!!!!!! FAINT PLEASE OMG. He was really interactive with the crowd, and once he came so close that he was able to reach out and take a fan's lightstick!!!!!! With gestures, he mimed throwing it out and with her permisson (omg the lucky girl!!) he really flung it out!!! There was a fanboy behind me with a sign with a drawing of chahan on it, and gero saw it halfway while singing, and he actually snorted and turned away laughing!!! TOO CUTE OMG. I've seen magazine pictures of gero performing live, and now was able to see it for myself, with my own eyes!!!!! INDESCRIBABLE. Then all too soon, his songs were over, and as the opening strains of Interviewer floated out, he gestured dasoku in.

DASOKU!!! He was like a direct opposite of gerorin wwwww. He was not the gero-high kind, but his charms were obvious and very very doki doki >w< He came in singing Interviewer (another of my favourite songs from him!!) and his voice was so strong, rich and smooth <333 And now he actually does walks around the stage a little, unlike last time when he first performs in lives, where its notorious that he will just ignore all cue signals and stand there www. But his non-mike hand is still characteristically limp by his side LOL. And his eyes!!! Mesmerizing!!! I bet many fans will say the same thing, but I swear he caught my eyes!!! INTENSE GAZE OMG ////// And he saw our friend's moka pic again, and he grinned and thumbs-upped!!!! After the second song, he did a short MC which was really funny!! He saw our friend's moka sign again, and was commending her on it (lucky girl!!! HAHA) and the asked the crowd do we know of moka-chan? The answer was a resulting roar of YES!! (of course!!!) Then he just had to ask, who did we like more, him or moka. The audience jokingly screamed MOKAAAA, and his reaction was too cute: he was like, 'ひどい！' ('meanie!'), sulked, pretending to throw down the mike in a huff and tried to walk off. We all shouted at him to COME BACKKKK WE ALSO LOVE YOUUUU hahahaha omg <333

He then sang his third and last song (also to a loud cry of dismay), omg another favourite if mine, Ee Ah Sou!!!! The crowd was ballistic, and we all sang along~ He actually forgot some of the lyrics here, and he gave a cute sheepish grin and turned away, bobbing his head till the next line HAHAHA. Too adorable!!! And there was once we shouted TONO!!! at him (殿, an old nickname of his) and he looked really surprised at us, and asked us how did we know HAHA. How could we not know!!

All too soon, his segment came to an end-- But there was a surprise!! All three DaGeMe came out again, and with a surprise collaboration song for us: Naruto's GO, by FLOW!!! But before that, they were too cute, where at first kaname-san appeared, followed by dasoku, where they both entered, and walked back again LOL. Then all three came out, and kaname and dsk linked arm-in-arm and skipped around the stage LOL!! Gerorin tried to join in, but dsk jokingly pushed him away and said '要らない！' ('not needed!') Gerorin huffed and fell onto the floor dramatically, and had each of his legs grabbed by dsk and kaname, and was dragged towards the stage center while screaming HELP HELP in english omg  HAHAHA <33333 Then they did the kagebunshin pose (from naruto) (or rather, kaname-san started it dynamically, gero imitated him, and dsk tried but uh failed LOL) and everyone went crazy as they announced the title of the song they'll be singing.

Its a really good choice of song!!! The crowd was literally going crazy, screaming the lyrics along and jumping (yes at an even higher intensity then before, if that's even possible lol). Kaname-san was at the center, while gero on the other side of the stage and dsk nearest to us!! Dsk was being lazy and letting the other two sing more, while he did really random cute acts like swaying around, bouncing and little random stretching exercises omg <333 Some of our friends imitated him, and he saw and laughed!!! Gerorin was being hyper at the other end but I can't really see cause too far; in any case dsk had all my attention wwww HE WAS TOO ADORABLE!!! Oh once gerorin took a fansign from the hands of a fan there, waved it around before returning it to her (lucky girl omg!!!).

Then all too soon the epic song ended, and they had a little break; our group amused ourselves by shouting in unison -> '1 2 3 CHANGERO!! ..1 2 3 TONO!!! ...1 2 3 DAGERO!!!' then we decided to stop in case we are annoying LOL ;

And after a while, they returned, this time in the Spring Taikai tshirt! (now I kinda want it cause they wore it.. anyway) and then it was the second mini talk show! They all had really random cute sitting positions; kaname was swinging his legs around boyboyly, gerorin was sitting cross-legged (on a stool!) and dsk had drew his legs up to his chest and was hugging his knees omg >w< Oh and dsk actually ran (ran!!) to his seat cause gero asked him to hurry LOLOL. The talkshow started off with kaname-san still being apologetic that he forgot the lyrics so he took out a 4x4 mirror (one of the official goods of 4x4!! OMG DO WANT) and passed it to gero, who passed it to dsk who held onto it for a while before sliding it onto gerorin's lap omg!! (yeah I missed out this part of the talk cause was busying focusing on the journey of the mirror LOL) Then they talked about their future plans: kaname-san mentioned his new cos-plans (I think I caught the name of Blazblue, but not the character name) then dagero talked about their ZEPP live tour in Japan (omg really do wanna go!!) Many of the audience were also shouting things like 'ikitai!!!' (wanna go!! TAT)

Then dsk talked about his root5 tour, where he asked gero when was it (LOL dsk!! gero's not even in root5 XD) then they went on to talk about the opening bands, and commented that they were really good (gerorin said he was so high that he apparently sang along quite loudly, and they had to close to backstage door LOL :'D) I think the MC also asked them what do they feel is the difference between being a professional singer and being an utaite. Gero said that as an utaite he got to sing with many many other awesome utaites (he listed many familiar names <3) and it was really an experience! Then near the end of the talk, the MC said they they had some things to give us-- The 4x4 mirror, and dsk pulled out a small daso9 tshirt!!!! (He joked that this was moka-sized and gerorin said there's probably still cat fur on it LOLOL) Kaname threw the mirror and dsk twirled around (seriously in a super cute manner) and flung out the tshirt. I wanted to much to get, but both items went out to near the middle, nowhere close to where I was ;w;

Then it was the photo-taking session! We were all led up row by row, and being the first we all went up trembling in excitement; due to another stroke of luck (so many that day omggggg) we were told to go to the front and form a second row, and I ENDED UP RIGHT BEHIND DASOKU. And when they told the front row to bend down so as to not block the back-- I WAS THIS CLOSE TO DASOKU. HEART NEARLY STOPPED. ////////////// Then too fast, the photo was taken and we were chivvied down. I wanted to interact and at least say a 'otsukaresama!!!' but didn't get the chance ;A;

Anyway we all filed out of the hall (that was 930pm; homg time really flies!!!), and highed and jumped and bounced around in excitement at each other outside; ALL ARE TOO HIGH OMG. No one wanted to leave, not with them just a few feet away, so we just highed at each other, each recounting our own experiences and joy and high and and--- XDDDDD (a post-concert pic! [link]) No one could bear to leave, but luckily we got a tip-off that they will be leaving by a certain back door, so our group followed and parked ourselves at the place lolol. The AFA people and security guards were really nice and allowed us to stay there, as long as we don't stampede or go out of control. They even handled out free coke! (and just nice at that exact time, amu had a nama live LOL) It was getting squeezy, so our group detached ourselves and went to another corner (SO GLAD WE DID CAUSE WE ENDED UP MUCH CLOSER TO THEM >3<). Gerorin tweeted that they were in a mini interview (link here: [link]) so we all settled down to wait.

Finally at around 11pm+, they came out!!! They looked surprised to see us all waiting there xD We all told them 'otsukaresamadeshita!!!' and that the live was really really fun and enjoyable!! They looked gratified and thanked us omgomg. And a friend of us led us to do a gero-praying pose he did in one of his lives in Japan (it looked really funny HAHA), and gerorin saw, snorted, and did back!!!! And we also hearted at dsk (using hands to form hearts) and he returned it with one of his!!!!!!! TOO HAPPY. And all too soon they went into the cars.. Dasoku was in the front car, while we were nearer the back car that gerorin was in.. And lo behold, he sat at the side closer to us, and the window was open!!! I took a chance and said 'ゆっくり休んでください!!!' (rest well after this!!!) AND HE HEARD, STUCK HIS HEAD OUT AND SAID  うんっ' !!!!! FAINT PLEASE. OMG SERIOUSLY ON CLOUD NINE!!!! Then the cars finally pulled out.. But not before we all go in a rousing 'BYEBYE' and he waved!!!!!!

Okay that was the end of the epic epic epic Spring Taikai. So many lucky things happened to combine to make an already epic awesome event even more awesome and more epic: me being able to come down earlier than expected, being able to be near the front of the queue for the handshake event, being able to be at the front for the concert queue and hence able to get front row seats OMG, was retweeted by both DAGERO, got to be this near dasoku during the photo-taking, and lastly able to meet them at the back exit at the end!!!!! IT WAS SUCH A BLESSED DAY, THANK YOU!!!! And also met so many new friends and utaite fans!!! This was definitely a memorable experience, and I hope that DaGeMe enjoyed themselves as much as we did!! I don't have kaname-san on twitter, but both dagero tweeted later on that it was super fun, hyped up and enjoyable!!!

IT WAS ALL SERIOUSLY LIKE A DREAM. Thank you so much AFA committee for organizing this super epic event, thank you DaGeMe for coming!!!! Thank you for making my dream come true!!!! And a great big thank you to my awesome friends who made this super doubly enjoyable by all highing together and getting epic seats, and thank you God for giving me this chance to experience this; something which I'd never thought I'll get to experience in the near future outside Japan!!!
